Synopsis

Wei embarks on a graduation trip to Thailand with her Taiwanese classmates. She feels disheartened when she witnesses an intimate interaction between her crush and a boy. In an attempt to lift her spirits, she decides to visit a Thai soapy massage parlor. Due to her female biological identity, the Thai bathhouse experience doesn’t unfold as beautifully as she had envisioned.

Director’s Bio

Born in Taiwan. She graduated from National Taiwan University College of Law and Department of Motion Picture of NTUA. Her short On the Waitlist was nominated for Xining FIRST International Film Festival, won the Best Director award in Seoul International Women’s Film Festival and won the Special Mention of the Ecumenical Jury prize in Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. Her latest work The Fishbowl Girl won an Honorable Mention in the Hawai‘i International Film Festival, was nominated for the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, and the Taipei Golden Horse Awards. She continues to create both narrative and documentary works, often delving into the ineffable complexities of human relationships, as well as the emotional and moral struggles of human nature.
